It costs little cure an egg yolk. We will need salt, sugar, the yolks and a little time. You can see it in the images.

A cured yolk will help us to make toast like the one in the photo or to enrich and decorate any plate.

It is a good recipe that we can make when we use the egg whites for other preparations, for example, this white chocolate cake.

Cured egg yolks

Ideal egg yolks to serve with toasts and very versatile for any type of preparation.

For the toast

Mix the same amount of salt and sugar in a plate. 50 g of each ingredient can be enough to marinate 2 yolks. It will also depend on the container we use.
We put part of the mixture of salt and sugar in the base of the container that we have chosen.
We separate the white from the yolk.
On that layer we put the yolk.
We cover it with more salt and sugar.
It has to be completely covered.
We put our container in the refrigerator and marinate for about 50 minutes.
After that time, carefully, we rescue our yolk and we pass it under the (loose) stream of tap water. The idea is to remove the remains of the marinade.
And we already have our yolk ready.
We can serve it on a toast, on a layer of spreadable cheese or with our favorite ingredients.
If we want, we aromatize with a basil leaf.
