We are going to prepare a traditional sweet but with a different touch. Today we show you how to make a orange and coconut flavored Calatrava bread.
First we are going to flavor the milk. Then we will let it cool to be able to mix it later with the eggs.
El candy we will also do it at home and use Homemade cupcakes to make our dessert even richer. You will see how good it is.
Orange and coconut Calatrava bread

Ingredients
- 1 liter of milk
- The peel of an orange (only the orange part)
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 muffins
- 3 eggs
- 3 tablespoons of grated coconut
For the caramel:
- 4 or 5 tablespoons of white sugar

We put the milk in a saucepan. Add the orange peel.
Also coconut and sugar.
We put the saucepan on the fire and, when the milk begins to boil, we turn it off. Let the milk cool in the saucepan, still with the orange peel.
When the milk is cold, we strain it to put it in a bowl.
Add the three eggs.
We mix.
If we like coconut, we can put a coconut here from the coconut that we have in the strainer, so that later we will notice it even more when having dessert.
We put the sugar for the caramel in a pan. We put it on the fire to make the caramel.
Once done we put it in the mold. Mine is rectangular. On the caramel we put the muffins, crumbling them slightly.
It will stay like this.
Pour the mixture of flavored milk with egg into this mold.
We cover the mold with aluminum foil.
We cook in a bain-marie, at 200º, for approximately one hour.
Then we remove the baking paper and continue baking for 10 more minutes.
Once out of the oven, let it cool, first at room temperature and then in the fridge.
We unmold. In this case you have to turn it, as if it were a flan.
