Since every Christmas we try to buy a leg of ham to cut during parties and family gatherings, I also take the opportunity to prepare some dishes with ham like this pasta with mushrooms, prawns and ham.
I usually resort to the areas of the ham that are more complicated to cut, where whole slices do not come out or it is a little harder and then I take advantage of it in different elaborations. You can also use for this recipe the ham cubes that are packaged in supermarkets or packaged slices cut into strips.
Pasta with mushrooms, prawns and ham
A rich pasta with sea and mountain flavors.

Ingredients
- 250 gr. pasta (I used short pasta, but you can do it with any other type of pasta)
- 100 gr. of mushrooms
- 100 gr. peeled prawns
- 60 gr. Serrano ham
- 80 gr. of onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of rum
- 200 ml of cream for cooking
- 20 gr. grated Parmesan

- parsley

Cook the pasta in plenty of salty water following the instructions on the package. Drain and reserve.
Chop the onion and garlic well and fry them in a pan with a couple of tablespoons of olive oil.
Once the onion and garlic begin to be poached, add the sliced mushrooms, the peeled prawns and the Serrano ham cut into strips or cubes. Cook a few minutes over medium heat until we see that the prawns are done.
Then add a tablespoon of rum and let all the alcohol evaporate.
Add the cream, salt and pepper to taste and a handful of chopped parsley. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce has a creamy and homogeneous consistency.
Finally add the cooked pasta and the grated Parmesan, mix everything well and serve.
