Ingredients
- 10 Oreo cookies
- 200 g white chocolate
- 10 g of sunflower oil
- Orange dye (if not found, can be yellow and red)
- 6 mini chocolate donuts
- 12 edible eyes
- 6 green lacasitas and some more lacasitas to decorate
- A teaspoon of sweet corn kernels
- 10 g dark chocolate to melt
Preparation
Let's prepare the pumpkins. To do this, we will first melt the chocolate blanco and we will dye it. We are going to do it in a bain-marie, The technique consists of placing a saucepan on top of another filled with water.
We cut the white chocolate into pieces and we place it in the pot that does not have water and we place it on the pot with water. We heat it and we will observe how the water gains heat and the saucepan on top will melt the chocolate without burning it or overheating it. As it melts, we will stir.
We add the orange coloring and we remove. If we do not have this type of color we can recreate it with the yellow and red color. To achieve this, first we will dye with the yellow dye and stir. If we notice that it becomes a paste, we can lighten the mixture by adding a teaspoon of sunflower oil. We stir so that it remains diluted.
We pour little by little droplets of red dye, we stir and check if it turns an orange tone. If we observe any setbacks in the mixture because it is still solid, we can lighten it with a little bit of sunflower oil. We stir until we obtain the desired color and consistency.
We have a plate with baking paper. We choose the Oreo type cookies, the spread with chocolate on both sides and We are placing them on the paper. When we have them ready, we can draw some lines with a toothpick forming the stripes of the pumpkin.
We cut the green lacasitos in half and place them in the upper part of the pumpkin. We take the bread sticks, we cut them into small pieces and also place them on the pumpkin. Once ready, the we put in the fridge so that the chocolate hardens.
For the mini chocolate donuts. We place the 10 g dark chocolate and we melt it in the microwave with short intervals of time and at low power. This melted chocolate is what will help us place the decorations on the donuts.
With the help of a toothpick we add chocolate dots and we paste the edible eyes. We add chocolate dots to the mouth and place the corn in the shape of teeth. With some lacasitos cut in half, we will also place them on top of the head.
We open the Oreo type cookies in half. We remove the filling. We cut each cookie in half to make semicircles. We make slits on the sides and insert the semicircles like wings. When we have everything ready, we will put it in the refrigerator so that the chocolate sets and the decorations remain fixed.
