Sweet and aromatic gingerbread

If we want to give an international touch to our Christmas, we can use typical recipes from other European countries as we already did with him Panettone or ginger cookies.

This time we have taken a walk through France and Germany, countries where it is typical to eat gingerbread at Christmas. Gingerbread is a kind of sponge cake flavored with various spices, with which we can play by adding some and removing others as well as transforming the quantities in the recipe, and sweetened with honey. It is usually eaten for breakfast, a snack or for dessert, but it is also good as an aperitif with foie gras or cheese.

The gingerbread, having the shape and sweetness of a cake, can be used to introduce children to the different and novel flavors and aromas that spices provide for them, with which so many dishes can be seasoned and that children will assimilate little by little.
